A brand-new fantasy anime is on the horizon, and it already has our attention!

Mercedes and the Waning Moon: The Dungeoneering Feats of a Discarded Vampire Aristocrat has released its very first teaser trailer, officially confirming a January 2027 premiere. Along with the trailer, fans also got a first look at the main cast, staff, and a gorgeous new visual.

The story follows Mercedes Grunewald, a young vampire girl who knows she'll never inherit her noble family's title. Instead of giving up, she decides to carve out her own future by exploring dangerous dungeons and becoming strong enough to support the people she loves.

What makes this series stand out is its unique mix of fantasy, dungeon-crawling, and family bonds. Rather than chasing glory, Mercedes is simply trying to protect her mother and build a better life, a refreshing twist on the usual fantasy adventure.

The anime will be produced by Studio Teddy, with Anna Nagase voicing Mercedes, and if the teaser is any indication, the world is shaping up to be both beautiful and mysterious.

Our take: We're always excited when a brand-new fantasy series gets an anime adaptation, and this one looks like it has all the ingredients for a hidden gem. Between the vampire setting, dungeon adventures, and heartfelt story, it's definitely one we'll be keeping an eye on.

Looks like Cosmic Princess Kaguya isn't done winning hearts just yet!

The hit anime film has released a brand-new main trailer for its upcoming return to Japanese theaters, where fans will be able to experience the movie in premium formats like 4DX, MX4D, SCREENX, ULTRA 4DX, and Dolby Atmos starting September 18.

The film has already had an incredible run. After launching on Netflix earlier this year, it became such a hit in Japan that its original one-week theatrical release kept getting extended. It even stayed in Japan's Top 10 box office for 11 straight weekends, earning over $16 million USD and becoming one of the highest-grossing anime films of 2026!

If you haven't heard of it yet, the story follows Iroha, a hardworking high school student whose quiet life changes forever after she discovers a mysterious girl named Kaguya. What begins as a heartwarming friendship soon turns into a magical adventure involving livestreaming, music, hidden secrets, and a destiny that reaches all the way to the moon.

With stunning animation from Studio Colorido, an emotional story, and a unique blend of fantasy and modern internet culture, it's easy to see why so many fans fell in love with this film.

Our take: This is one of those movies that quietly became a huge success through word of mouth. If it ever gets an international theatrical release, we'll definitely be grabbing some popcorn and checking it out!

Here's one that fantasy fans should definitely keep an eye on!

A brand-new teaser trailer has been released for The Eternal Fool's Words of Wisdom: A Pawsitively Fantastic Adventure, officially confirming a January 2027 premiere. We also got our first look at the two main characters—and honestly, they already seem like they'll be a fun duo.

The story follows Asley, an immortal sorcerer who's spent 5,000 years buried in magical research. You'd think someone that old would have everything figured out... but not quite! After centuries of hiding away, he's finally pushed back into the world by his longtime companion, Pochi, an immortal canine familiar who's been by his side for over 800 years.

Together, the two set off on a brand-new adventure filled with magic, monsters, and (hopefully) helping Asley become a little less... well... foolish. Their relationship looks like it's going to be one of the biggest highlights of the series, mixing heartfelt friendship with plenty of comedy along the way.

If you enjoy fantasy anime with powerful magic, lovable characters, and a loyal animal companion, this one might end up being a hidden gem when it premieres next year.

Our take: Any anime that gives us an immortal wizard traveling the world with his sarcastic, overpowered dog already has our attention. This looks like it could be one of those cozy fantasy adventures that's simply a lot of fun to watch.

A brand-new workplace comedy is joining the anime lineup!

Noa-senpai wa Tomodachi. (Noa is My Senior, And My Friend.) has officially been announced as a TV anime, with Studio feel. bringing the series to life. Along with the announcement, fans got their first teaser visual featuring the series' star, Noa Saotome, raising a celebratory drink and welcoming us into her world.

The manga has been quietly building a strong fanbase over the past few years, even surpassing 1 million copies in circulation and earning a spot in the Next Manga Awards. Now it's finally getting the anime adaptation many readers have been hoping for.

The story follows Rihito Otsuka, a young employee at a game development company, and his boss Noa Saotome, a talented art director admired by everyone around her. To her coworkers, Noa seems like the perfect professional—but Otsuka soon discovers there's a much more relatable side hiding behind her polished image. As the two spend more time together, an unexpected friendship begins to grow.

If you're a fan of workplace comedies, wholesome friendships, and characters who are completely different behind closed doors, this could be one of the more charming new anime announcements of the year.

Our take: Not every anime needs world-ending battles or magical powers. Sometimes it's nice to get a fun, character-driven series about friendship, work life, and the chaos of being an adult. This one definitely has our attention.

Here's one that immediately caught our attention!

The dark post-apocalyptic manga Tsugumi Project is officially getting a TV anime adaptation, and while we don't have a release date yet, the first teaser trailer and visual have already been revealed—and they look incredible.

If you're into gritty sci-fi worlds, giant monsters, and survival stories, this might be one to keep on your radar.

The story follows Leon, a soldier who is falsely accused of a crime and forced into a dangerous mission deep inside what was once Japan. More than 200 years after a nuclear catastrophe, the country has become a lawless wasteland filled with terrifying mutated creatures, forgotten technology, and deadly secrets. His mission sounds simple: recover a mysterious weapon known only by the codename Tsugumi. Of course... nothing is ever that simple.

Along the way, Leon encounters a mysterious half-human girl who seems deeply connected to the mission—and to the truth behind the weapon everyone is searching for.

One fun fact that makes this announcement even more exciting: manga creator ippatu also worked on character designs for the animated films BELLE and Scarlet, so there's already some serious artistic talent behind this story.

Our take: This feels like it could be a hidden gem for fans of darker anime. If you love series like Akira, Hell's Paradise, or stories with mysterious worlds and intense action, Tsugumi Project is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
