Hunter x Hunter is going on hiatus once again, with Shueisha announcing that Yoshihiro Togashi's manga will return at a later date. The series only resumed serialization on June 29th, making the announcement a particularly short return for fans who have been patiently waiting for new chapters. But there is some good news alongside the hiatus: a fourth Hunter x Hunter stage play has been announced, this time adapting the beloved Chimera Ant Arc. The production will be split into two parts, with the first running from January to February 2027 and the second from July to August 2027 in Tokyo and Kyoto. The manga's 39th volume was also released in July, which has been the first new volume in 22 months and the series has now surpassed 100 million copies in circulation, including digital editions!

Recipe Of The Week!

Sanji’s Seafood Risotto

This week, we are diving into the high seas of One Piece! During the Baratie Arc, Sanji prepares a life-saving plate of steaming seafood risotto for the starving pirate Gin. Simple, comforting, and packed with savory umami, this dish is one of the most emotional meals in the entire series!

What You'll Need

  • Serves: 2 bowls

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes

  • Cook Time: 25 minutes

  • 1 cup Arborio rice (or short-grain white rice)

  • 1/2 lb mixed seafood (shrimp, squid rings, and small octopus tentacles)

  • 3 cups seafood or vegetable broth (kept warm)

  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (or non-alcoholic cooking wine)

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced

  • 1/2 small yellow onion, finely diced

  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt & freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)

  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

🍙 Instructions

  1. Prep the Seafood: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the mixed seafood and cook for 2–3 minutes until just cooked through. Remove the seafood from the pan and set aside on a plate.

  2. Aromatics & Rice: In the same pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing for about 2 minutes until soft and fragrant. Add the rice and stir continuously for 1–2 minutes to lightly toast the grains.

  3. Deglaze & Simmer: Pour in the white wine to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits. Stir until the liquid is almost entirely absorbed.

  4. Add Broth Gradually: Add the warm broth 1/2 cup at a time, stirring frequently. Wait until the liquid is mostly absorbed before adding the next ladle. Continue this process for 18–20 minutes until the rice is tender with a slight bite (al dente) and creamy in texture.

  5. Finish & Assemble: Stir in the remaining tablespoon of butter, grated Parmesan, and cooked seafood. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Top with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot immediately!

Villager Tip

Never pour cold or room-temperature seafood stock into your hot pan. Cold liquid drops the pan temperature instantly, shocks the rice grains, and prevents them from releasing their starches evenly, leaving you with chalky rice in a thin sauce instead of a silky, cohesive risotto. Keep your stock simmering on low heat in a small pot right next to your skillet, and ladle it in warm!

Until next week's recipe, villagers!
